Dear Pharmacist,
On behalf of the Professional Society of Pharmacists,
I would like to invite you to join our organization. I would also like to
give you more information about PSOP so that you might encourage other pharmacists
to join:
- PSOP is a non-profit organization founded in
1964 by three Portland pharmacists whose goal was to provide timely drug
information to area pharmacists.
- Today our goal has not changed. It is to improve and advance the art and science of pharmacy. To support a system of education and training to ensure proper supervision, distribution and use of drugs and to discharge all other public health functions of the profession of pharmacy.
- Our membership includes pharmacists from every
area of practice. We have approximately 150 members from throughout Oregon and Southwestern
Washington.
- PSOP hosts monthly CE dinner meetings. Usually sponsored
by pharmaceutical companies, the meetings provide the latest information
on a wide variety of topics.
- PSOP hosts the annual Fred Meek Memorial Seminar
the first Sunday in November. Scheduled in 2007 for Sunday, November 4th the Meek
offers approximately 7 hours of Oregon and Washington approved CE. In addition we
provide continental breakfast, lunch, and snacks throughout the day. Vendor display tables
complete the seminar by offering attendees all the latest drug information.
- PSOP donates money to area colleges
of pharmacy for scholarships. Last year we donated $10,000.00.
- PSOP members pay only a nominal fee for dinner
meetings, usually only $10.00
- PSOP members also receive a discount when attending
the Fred Meek Seminar
