Dear Pharmacists, Pharmacy Interns, and Certified Pharmacy Technicians,
Welcome to the Professional Society of Pharmacists (PSOP)!
PSOP is a professional organization that was started in 1964 by three Portland pharmacists. The mission of PSOP is to support the profession of pharmacy by providing and fostering pharmaceutical education and networking opportunities that empower pharmacists, technicians, and pharmacy students to provide and deliver optimal pharmaceutical care to patients. PSOP achieves this mission by offering continuing education dinner events throughout the year and by offering an annual day-long seminar—the Fred Meek. Funds raised through these events support local pharmacy schools by providing funding for scholarships.
If you are currently a member of PSOP, we thank you for your support. If you are not yet a member, we invite you to become a member of this organization and support its mission. As of 2011, PSOP has extended membership opportunities to also include pharmacy interns and certified pharmacy technicians. This is an opportunity that all pharmacy interns and certified pharmacy technicians are invited to act upon, and pharmacists are also encouraged to become members of PSOP. In addition to supporting funding for pharmacy education and networking and learning at PSOP events, all PSOP members are rewarded with the benefit of having event rates at the discounted membership prices.
As we embark upon another year, the Executive Council and the members of PSOP welcome you and look forward to a year that is filled with educational and networking opportunities.
